Matcha has been around for centuries and has evolved to become a well-loved drink in the health and wellness community. Matcha has several health benefits as it is natural and packed with nutrients, like green tea powder.

Matcha should always be consumed in moderation as it does have a higher concentration of caffeine than other green teas. Brewing Guide: Matcha Einspanner

Essential Ingredients & Tools

Matcha Base: 3-4g matcha powder (Rocky’s Matcha), 40-60ml hot water 

Cream Top: 50ml heavy whipping cream, 1-2 tsp sugar (or vanilla syrup), pinch of salt.

Assembly: 120-150ml milk (oat or dairy recommended), ice cubes.

Tools: A matcha bowl (chawan), bamboo whisk (chasen), and a sifter.

Prepare the Cream: In a bowl, combine heavy cream, sugar, and salt. Use a handheld frother or whisk to whip until it reaches a thick, soft-peak texture (similar to yogurt or thick custard).

Make the Matcha: Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to prevent clumps. Add hot water and whisk vigorously with a chasen (matcha whisk) until smooth and frothy.

Assemble the Drink:

  • Fill a glass with ice.
  • Pour in the milk (add sweetener to the milk if desired).
  • Pour the matcha base over the milk.
  • Spoon or pour the cream top over the matcha.
